My favorite experience from the festival was when my U.S. Senator from Nebraska, Senator Ben Nelson, escorted me to the Congressional Reception.  He made a special effort to be there, and I thoroughly enjoyed the reception with him there.  Also, of course the ball, with 66 wedding dresses, and military escorts galore, was also a high point!  Last but NOT least, were the police escorts everywhere we went.  It was incredible to have them escort us everywhere we went.  D.C. traffic parted and waited for us! - Betsy Garbacz, 2002 Nebraska Princess

My fondest memories were doing things and going places for the first time.  For the first time, I visited the Kennedy Center, the Vietnam Memorial, the Red Cross, etc.  I also liked meeting diverse young women from the US and other countries.-Deven Conley, 2001 Alabama Princess
