Lantern Lighting Ceremony
Sunday, April 8th at 2:30 PM, Tidal Basin, FREE
Jointly sponsored by the NCSS and the National Park Service, this traditional observance features remarks
by the Japanese Ambassador, DC Mayor, other dignitaries, and the lighting of the 351 year old lantern. Music will be provided
by the Toho Koto Society of Washington and the Cardinal Choir.

Enjoy a three-course menu with the princesses, an exhibit of Ikebana floral arrangements by Ikebana Intl,
the Shinzumi Kodomo Dance Troupe, a presentation by Dr. Holly Lisanby, and a book signing by speaker Ann McClellan, author
of The Cherry Blossom Festival: Sakura Celebration.
Grand Ball with Sushi Reception and Silent Auction
Friday, April 13th from 6 PM to 12 AM, $150/pp

Capping the Cherry Blossom festivities is the U.S. Cherry Blossom Queen selection. The elegant, black-tie
evening begins with a sushi reception hosted by Master Sushi Chefs from Japan and Washington, DC and Sapporo Beer in the Grand
Foyer. Then enjoy a wonderful three-course meal, bid on an amazing selection of items in the silent auction, and cap the evening
with a spin on the dance floor. Proceeds from the silent auction benefit local educational programs.
